You ever have one of these conversations?

Me: I believe A, B & C.

Other: Well, you’re wrong. D & E are just flat out wrong.

Me: That’s ok, cause I don’t believe in D & E, just A, B & C.

Other: No, that’s not possible. In my experience, when people say they believe in A & B, they mean they believe in D & E.

Me: Well, that’s not true in my case. I understand the confusion, some people that believe in A, B & C, also believe in D & E. But I don’t. I believe in A, B & C, and reject D & E.

Other: You’re wrong, because D & E are false.

Me: I agree, that’s why I only believe in A, B & C.

Other: But D & E are wrong.

Me: Yep. Just A, B & C.

Other: But D & E are wrong.

Suddenly I feel like I’m in Joe vs the Volcano: I’m not arguing that point with you.

Other: But D & E are wrong, you can’t defend them.

Me: And I don’t. I disagree with them. A, B & C are right.

Other: But D & E are wrong.

Me: Sigh. Have a nice day.

Other: BUT. D & E are WRONG.
