I was trying to put the Hollywood journey into perspective for a friend earlier today, so I checked out the various sites I submit on and did some rough math.
In the just over 5 years I’ve been in Los Angeles, I have submitted for more than 6500 projects and roles. I have been called in to audition for 200 of them. I have booked 9.
That doesn’t take into account the work that my commercial agent does, which is actually pretty significant, and while I’ve started getting more callbacks, I haven’t booked a single thing off of their efforts.
But, you might say, you’ve worked on more than 9 projects. Yes, I have. Those other jobs all came as a result of either relationships or someone seeing me in an audition for something else and later casting me in a different project. And I’m very grateful.
