A very long day today.

I had planned my schedule out to allow a few extra hours to write before I had to leave for the monthly writer’s mixer.

That got stalled early on. On the way home, I stopped at the library book sale. When I came out from the sale, I had a flat tire. I got it back in shape with my portable air pump, then headed home.

By the time I got home, it was going down again. Turns out there was a cotter pin embedded vertically in my tire. That meant I couldn’t plug the tire because I couldn’t drive the plug in at the appropriate angle cause it’s fighting against the radial steel radial belts. So I ended up emptying out the trunk to swap out the spare.

Anyhow, by the time I got it all done and cleaned up, I was running late to meet my friend Dorothy for dinner before the mixer at Double Take at the Palomar Hotel in West LA.

But I made it and I’m glad I did. I had a nice dinner, courtesy of Dorothy, met some fun younger people (including one who flat out refused to take my advice on her best option for advancing, then complained that she lacked the very skills that I told her the class & mailing list would help her improve – the recommendation was Krista Parkinson &  My Grads Get Jobs, by the way)

I caught up briefly with my friend Giselle, who recently started the ABC fellowship, and I met a couple guys in the current Jen Grisanti Consultancy teleseminar, one of whom has a similar history to me and is developing a fantastic show based on one of our similarly held jobs & locations, and I think it’ll be an incredible comedy when he gets it written.

All in all a good night, and I have a 9am call time tomorrow morning for the In Tune shoot. It’s gonna be a long weekend. 🙂
